5-year-old'd skull fractured after being hit by car

POLICE are investigating after a boy was hit by a car in Wangan yesterday.

Around 4.15pm, a 5-year-old boy got off a school bus on Meyer Avenue, crossed onto the road and was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

The boy was transported to Innisfail Hospital with a suspected fractured skull.

Although serious, his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

The Forensic Crash Unit investigation is continuing.
