Online gambling sites banned from giving free credit
ONLINE gambling companies will be banned from offering their clients credit on betting websites.
The government's response to the O'Farrell Review of Illegal Offshore Wagering was released yesterday by Communications Minister Alan Tudge.
The review found $64-$400 million might be lost to offshore gambling websites each year - resulting in lost tax revenue and exacerbating concerns about integrity in sports.
Mr Tudge said the government had accepted 18 of the 19 recommendations, including a ban on online firms offering lines of credit.
