Amanda Seyfried joins Twin Peaks
AMANDA Seyfried has joined the cast of 'Twin Peaks'.
The Hollywood actress is making a triumphant return to TV after landing a leading role in the upcoming revival of the cult 1990s show.
According to TVLine.com, Amanda's role is being kept tightly under wraps but she is expected to appear in multiple episodes of the new season.
The blonde beauty has become one of Hollywood's biggest stars with roles in 'Mean Girls', 'Les Miserables' and 'Ted 2', but she previously plied her craft on the small screen in shows such as 'Veronica Mars' and 'Big Love'.
Original 'Twin Peaks' actor Kyle MacLachlan will star in the new series, which is being written entirely by the show's co-creators David Lynch and Mark Frost.
The original series aired from 1990 to 1991 and was followed by a feature film the next year, starring Kyle as Special Agent Dale Cooper who tried to solve the murder of Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee).
In April, David Lynch quit the series, saying: "After 1 year and 4 months of negotiations, I left because not enough money was offered to do the script the way I felt it needed to be done. (sic)"
However, he eventually came to terms with US TV channel Showtime to return to the cult show.
