AMBER ALERT: Two-year-old boy found, taken to hospital
A TWO-year-old whose disappearance prompted a major alert by police has been found safe and taken to hospital.
The little boy was taken from his mother's home in the Gold Coast suburb of Mudgeeraba by his grandfather on Tuesday afternoon.
He was found by police at nearby Snapper Rocks after someone reacted to the Amber Alert released by police and called authorities.
Queensland Police have now cancelled the alert, and Corben's mother spoke to the media on Wednesday morning.
Police say the boy was found safe and well.
She said the little boy has now been taken by ambulance to hospital to be checked out.
"It was a relief. A real stress off my chest when they told me police had him," she said.
The thankful mum also gave her gratitude to whoever spotted the grandfather's four-wheel-drive and contacted police.
"Thank you so much for following him and taking into consideration that that was my baby."
AMBER ALERT: Two-year-old boy "could be anywhere" say police.
A TWO-year-old boy has been taken by his grandfather from a Gold Coast home, prompting an Amber Alert from Queensland Police.
Until they do, the Amber Alert remains active.
Detective Superintendent Dave Hutchinson addressed the media this morning, after issuing the major alert.
The man was playing with his two-year-old grandson in his 1993 Land Cruiser on Tuesday afternoon while the child's mother was inside the family home in Mudgeeraba.
The mother has raised the alarm after realising the grandfather was gone, and so was the four-wheel-drive and the toddler.
The fact that he disappeared without notice, cannot be found, and has a medical condition, have all combined to motivate police to release the major alert.
"All those things combined have provided us with some concerns about the safety of the child," Det Supt Hutchinson said.
"The vehicle hasn't been seen since yesterday afternoon and hasn't been seen anywhere.
"We couldn't define any particular area."
Det Supt Hutchinson said there was nothing in the grandfather's past that he would necessarily harm the child, but the combination of circumstances prompted the alert.
Police are asking the grandfather to contact police and let them know that he and the child are fine.
He also asked the public to immediately contact police if they spot the four-wheel-drive.
New South Wales Police are also now involved with the search.
EARLIER: Amber Alert launched after two-year-old boy disappears
A TWO-year-old boy could be in danger as police issue an Amber Alert to help find him.
The boy was taken from a home at Mudgeeraba on the Gold Coast at about 4pm on Tuesday before being driven away by a man who knows him, according to police.
Police are asking for the public's help in finding Wayne Neale Pearson, 43 -- a fair-skinned man, about 182cm tall with brown hair and medium build.
The two-year-old boy is fair-skinned, has auburn hair and green eyes.
Police believe they may be travelling in a red 1993 Toyota Landcruiser four-wheel-drive.
It is not known what direction the man was travelling in, or where he might go.
Police now hold serious fears for the child's safety as the man is understood to have a medical condition.
