Augathella student's safety message goes statewide

CAMPBELL Newell of Augathella State School will soon become a household name, when Queensland families see his picture in the 2020 Farm Safety Calendar.

The Year 5 student's winning entry about staying safe around dams was chosen from more than 1700 across the state, and will be the message for January next year.

"We are all very proud (of Campbell),” Augathella State School principal Natalie Newell said.

"This was the first time Augathella State School has been part of the Farm Safety Calendar competition, so we were very excited when we were notified that we had a winning entry.”

As the winner, Campbell received a $250 voucher, and his school was awarded a $500 prize. Calendars can be ordered at worksafe.qld.gov.au
