Balloons soar for Monique three years after disappearance

IT has been three years since Hervey Bay's Monique Clubb was last seen - she travelled to Brisbane and never returned home.

But the fight to find Monique hasn't ended with her sister-in-law Nikki Duncan and Monique's brother Mickey appealing for more information from the public.

Nikki said she had become even more concerned now they're hearing less and less from police as time goes on.

"There hasn't been a call to Crime Stoppers since March this year; we're looking into a private investigator to continue the search," Nikki said.

On June 22, 2013, Monique called her mum, Sheena McBryde, and told her she would be home as soon as she got some money for transport. She was last seen near the train station at Beenleigh that same day.

During the past three years, the family has heard many different stories about what may have happened to Monique - dark rumours, too disturbing and grisly to be repeated here.

Nikki said there were constant reminders of Monique through the music she listened to and the photos on their walls.

"Whether she is here with us or not, we just want to bring her home," Nikki said. Nikki believes there are people who know exactly what happened to Monique, who was 24 at the time of her disappearance.

Nikki said each year on the anniversary of her disappearance, the family released balloons at the Torquay jetty in memory of Monique.

If you have information to assist police call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
