Boy 13, assaulted and robbed by two men

POLICE investigating the violent robbery of a 13-year-old boy are appealing to the public for help in tracking down the two men believed to be responsible.

The 13-year-old boy walking down a street in Sinnamon Park yesterday afternoon when he was assaulted and robbed by two men who had been driving past.

Around 5.30pm, as the boy approached the intersection of Glen Ross Road and Avondale Avenue, the men jumped out of a stolen white Mercedes 200 series with Queensland registration 267 WBR and approached the boy.

One of the men punched the boy several times to the head, causing him to fall to the ground.

He then attempted to strike the boy again, however missed, grabbed the boys backpack and moved away.

The second man, seeing the boy lying on the ground, kicked him once in the stomach before both fled with the boy's backpack which contained his wallet and phone.

The boy returned to a nearby basketball court where the police were called.

He sustained bruising to his head, pain and discomfort to his neck and stomach, and an abrasion to his knee.

The first man is described as Caucasian, aged in his mid 20s and with short brown hair.

He was wearing dark shorts and no shirt.

The second man is described as Caucasian, aged in his mid to late teen with dark hair.

He was wearing a long sleeved navy blue t-shirt style shirt with a large white logo on the front, and long dark pants.

In a separate incident around 10 minutes earlier, which may be related, two men fled from a Donnelly Court house after being disturbed standing just inside the front door by the resident, a 40-year-old woman.

The pair fled empty handed and were seen getting into a stolen red Ford Falcon sedan Queensland registration plates 307 KTI.

The two men are described as Caucasian, around 180cms tall with slim builds.

Police are investigating whether there are any links between the the men in both stolen vehicles.
