Seven crews work for more than four hours to put blaze out

UPDATE: Seven crews worked for more than four hours to extinguish a grass fire that burnt through acres of bushland at Dundathu on Monday afternoon.  

Crews backburned an area of bushland by 4pm.

The fire which broke out near Churchhill Mines Rd and Peridge Rd was out by about 5.30pm. 

The cause of the fire is unknown, however it is not believed to be suspicious. 

EARLIER: Crews are working to contain a grassfire on the corner of Churchill Mine Rd and the Maryborough-Hervey Bay Rd in Dundathu.

Six crews are at the scene of the fire, which started about 1pm on Monday.

A spokeswoman from Queensland Fire and Rescue said crews were using high pressure hoses to contain the blaze.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
