Horror collision with roadtrain hospitalises woman

AN ELDERLY woman has been rushed to hospital after her car collided with a road train. 

The 88-year-old woman's yellow mazda was completely destroyed when it collided with a road train on the intersection of Raglan St and Currey St in Roma just before 2pm, Saturday.

Firefighters, paramedics and police scrambled to the scene to free the woman from the mangled wreckage and transport her to hospital.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman told Newscorp the woman suffered head injuries and minor shock from the accident but is in a stable condition and the female driver of the road train was very shaken up by the incident but did not sustain any injuries. 

An investigation into the cause of the collision is still ongoing.
