BREAKING: Man hospitalised after car smashes into tree in Maranoa

A man is on his way to hospital after his car collided with a tree on the side of a Southwest Queensland road this morning, January 20.

Emergency services were called at the scene on the Carnarvon Highway at Tingun about 7.30am.

The patient is stable and is being assessed by paramedics, according to a Queensland Ambulance spokesman.

A Queensland Police spokesman said the vehicle is off the road and there are no traffic issues, although the car will have to be recovered at some stage.

He is currently being transported to hospital.
