
Young boy taken to hospital after he was hit by a car
A YOUNG child has been taken to hospital after he was hit by a car in Kingaroy.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said they received a call to the corner of George and Haly streets at 2.42pm on Monday afternoon.
The spokeswoman said paramedics were attending to a primary school-aged boy.
"We've transported the child in a stable condition to Kingaroy Hospital," the spokeswoman said.
A Queensland Police spokesman said the child was hit by a motor vehicle as he was riding his bicycle.
"Police are investigating," the spokesman said.
A witness who spoke to the South Burnett Times said they saw the child riding a bike along the footpath when he was hit by the car.
"He was rolling on the ground holding his leg," the witness said.
"He looked like he was in pain.
"The bike he was riding was on the ground next to him."
Other witnesses, who were inside a business at the time, said they heard loud screams at the time of the incident.
