CCC take no action against accused Gold Coast cop
POLICE officers accused of using excessive force when arresting a 51-year-old man on the Gold Coast may face disciplinary action but will not be charged.
The Queensland Crime and Corruption Commission announced yesterday that there were "no prospects of a successful criminal prosecution", but it would recommend internal discipline be taken against the officers.
CCC chairman Alan MacSporran said although "significant force" had been used, it occurred as the 51-year-old's arm was wrapped around one officer's thigh - close to his gun.
