Committee to decide Reds boss Amor's fate

ADELAIDE United coach Guillermo Amor is set to find out on Monday whether he will have to serve a further suspension for touching an A-League official.

The Spaniard was forced to sit in the stands for the 0-0 draw with Sydney FC on Saturday night after being sent off the week before for grabbing the arm of fourth official Adam Fielding while complaining about a goal conceded in the defeat to Perth Glory.

Referee Jarred Gillett banished Amor to the stands and he served the mandatory one-match suspension but an independent A-League committee will meet today to discuss whether there should be further sanctions.

"The Match Review Panel regarded the incident constituting unsporting conduct towards a match official,” a Football Federation Australia statement read.

There was no malice in Amor's actions and he tried to explain what happened straight after the Glory game in round seven.

"When you don't speak good, some language, normally you use the hands, and the movement. And this is normal,” he said.

"With the players sometimes it's the same. Normal action. I always respect the referees, his job. I know it's sometimes difficult, because deciding in one second.”
