Court to decide if pedophile should remain in jail
A CONVICTED pedophile could learn within months whether he will be released from jail or have to remain behind bars.
The Attorney-General's office has asked the supreme court to determine whether Douglas Brian Jackway should remain behind bars under the state's dangerous prisoner laws or be released on strict supervision orders.
A hearing has been scheduled for early April to determine the matter.
Jackway grew up on the Sunshine Coast and in the 1990s he snatched a boy in Gladstone and tried to rape him.
