Creating peace with art
LYNDA Worrell is on a mission to help individuals and groups understand and receive peace and calm, even in the midst of life's roller-coaster and difficult challenges.
In recent months Ms Worrell has added a new tool to the toolkit and that is what she calls Aussie Arise! Heart Art.
The amateur artist admits that she is unskilled as an artist, even though many members in her own family are gifted with creative talents.
She believes that the workshops that she holds are successful because she trusts God to reveal truths to participants.
"There is no expectation on the participants to create a masterpiece of any kind.
"In fact, they don't even have to discuss their painting with anyone,” Ms Worrell said.
"Some of those who have participated have only been able to draw stick figures or shade their canvas with different colours, but have had breakthroughs in their emotions and beliefs,” she said.
Ms Worrell said she believed that recognising all emotions, whether painful or not, were valuable as a good starting point.
"Emotions are not meant to be overcome, nor smothered or denied and they do need our attention,” she said.
Over the years, Ms Worrell has found that emotion is very reliable and accurate in exposing what she believes.
"What we believe deep down inside is what will be revealed in our actions, our conversations and ultimately result either in peace and calm in our relationships or in chaos,” she said.
These Aussie Arise! Heart Art workshops have been attended by both men and women who Ms Worrell said has had peace and calm in the issues that were bothering them before they came.
