Unlicenced charge

A ROMA woman has been charged after her car was intercepted by police on McDowall St on Sunday. Police charged the 19-year-old for unlicensed driving because of her demerit point suspension. The woman was issued a notice to appear in the Roma Magistrates Court on July 7.

Held over breaches

POLICE currently have a male from Mitchell in custody in relation to breaching two of his bail conditions. The 30-year-old is set to appear in court later today.

COVID-19 compliance

ROMA patrol inspector Ray Vine said police haven’t issued any fines relating to COVID-19 of recent, and applauded the public for their assistance.

He said as new directives are implemented, police will continue to monitor compliance.

Police are visiting several premises in town to conduct community engagement and talking to businesses to make sure they’re on board with COVID-19 checklists.

“As of noon today, people can leave their home for any reason and we may see an increase in travellers, but the community shouldn’t be concerned, we will still continue to patrol the area,” Mr Vine said.
