CRIME WRAP: Where thieves are targeting homes in Roma
Police have attended the scene of an attempted break-in at a Foott Street address in Roma at 3.30am on March 13.
Constable Rory Akermanis said someone tried to gain entry through the front door.
Police have taken fingerprints but there is no suspect involved.
Intruders remove screens
A Currey Street address was entered by unknown offenders between 3am and 3.20am on March 13.
Constable Akermanis said they allegedly entered the house through the rear and removed the screen, gaining entry through the kitchen.
Police are not aware of anything being stolen from the house.
Constable Akermanis would like to remind the community that intruders can still enter a property by removing screens and entering through the window.
The matter is still under investigation.
A 39-year-old woman has allegedly yelled abuse at people on Bond Street at 12.30am on March 14.
“There were children present, that’s why police charged her,” Constable Akermanis said.
She will face the Roma Magistrates Court on March 31 on the charge of public nuisance.
Unknown offenders have made a hole in a bedroom window flyscreen at a Cottell Street house about 11.10pm on March 15.
Constable Akermanis said the occupants were inside.
“They attempted to open the bedroom window before they were disturbed,” he said.
The intruders left and are still on the loose.
