DEVELOPMENT: New St John’s building to be constructed in 2021
New developments at St John’s Catholic College in Roma are set to take place, and the school believes it will help deliver first-rate, modern facilities for students.
Principal Jim Brennan announced on the school’s Facebook page that Stage 2 of the St John’s School Master Plan is underway with eight new classrooms being constructed in 2021, as well as student amenities and landscaping.
Development plans show a proposed shaded courtyard outside of the building, a lift for the two-storey building, a proposed specialty building, and new footpath outside of school grounds.
Upgrades like these ensure all of our students have the best facilities, our classrooms have the best teachers, and that every student is given the best opportunities,” business manager Belinda Hayward said.
The design was completed by Aspect Architects & Project Managers, and the construction contact has been awarded to Hutchinson Builders.
These developments come after the construction of the Mercy Block in 2018, consisting of seven primary school classrooms.
Stage 3 is currently in planning and will involve a land swap with Pinaroo.
