Police find machete, broken key after Mt Morgan gun incident

11.20am: SCENES of crime police officers have been called to Mt Morgan to photograph a number of items in relation to an alleged double barrel shot gun incident.

Police were called to Baree this morning with allegations a man and a woman pulled a machete and a double barrel shot gun on residents.

It is alleged the woman smashed the window of the front door of the residence during the incident.

Two people were taken into custody on Limestone Rd, Struck Oil, afterwards.

Police have uncovered a broken car key, a damaged lock of a vehicle, machetes and other items during their investigation into the alleged incident.

9.30am: POLICE have two people in custody in relation to an incident in Mt Morgan this morning.

Reports suggest informants say the male and female pulled a machete and a double barrel shot gun on them before taking off down the Burnett Highway.

Police are talking to a male and female on Limestone Rd, Struck Oil, in relation to the allegations.

It is believed no weapons have been found on the male or female, or in the vehicle they were travelling in.

9.12am: POLICE are hunt for two people involved in an incident where a double barrel shot gun was pulled on a person this morning.

Initial reports suggest the incident occurred in the Mt Morgan area and police are en route to the township.

It is believed the male and female suspects took off from the scene in a silver sedan.

Reports indicate a 14-year-old male witnessed the incident.
