Drillham shake it all about at Mother's Day Dance

IT'S not often you'll get to dance the Pride of Erin and the Hokey Pokey in the same evening.

That's exactly what happened on Saturday night at the Drillham Hall Mother's Day dance.

Local children, parents and grandparents all flocked to the hall for an evening of dancing and celebration as the community wished Jim McGeachie a happy 75th Birthday.

As the dance fell over Mother's Day weekend mum's of all ages were greeted at the door with a bouquet of carnations as a special thank you from the hall committee.

Sound Elite played a wonderful selection of classic for all ages to enjoy, the chicken dance in particular had all the young at heart joining in.

Hall committee member Chester Turvey said it was heart warming to see so many people attend the event.

"It's especially great to see the young people coming along and having a go, learning the dances and joining in,” Mr Turvey said.

"Country dances aren't just for the oldies, there's plenty of fun to be had no matter your age,” he said.
