Expectation plays big part in teen drinking
TEENAGERS who expect to have positive experiences while drinking alcohol are more likely to drink and less likely to be able to refuse a drink when it is offered.
That is the key finding of a recent University of Queensland psychological study on teen attitudes to drinking.
Study co-author Kiri Patton also said non-drinking teens were more likely to expect negative experiences while drinking and more likely to refuse alcohol than their drinking peers.
