Police reveal crash victim was Southside man, 63

 

UPDATE:

POLICE have confirmed that the man who died in a single vehicle crash this morning was a 63-year-old Southside man.

Initial information suggests around 5.55am the man's vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree on Exhibition Rd.

The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
 

EARLIER:

POLICE are attending a fatal accident on Exhibition Rd near the corner of Stumm Rd, which occurred about 6am this morning.

A man, believed to be in his 60s, was the sole occupant of a car, which is the only vehicle involved and is left badly mangled where it has hit a tree.


Traffic was blocked as paramedics attended the scene, while officers from the Fire and Rescue Service were using extraction machinery. 

 
The forensic crash unit is investigating.
