AFP hopes to boost female officers on the force
FEDERAL Police Commissioner Andrew Colvin hopes to increase the number of female AFP officers to 50% over the next 10 years.
Mr Colvin said women accounted for less than 20% of the AFP's uniformed officers.
He said 35% of the force's entire staff were female and they held 15 of 84 senior leadership positions.
Mr Colvin told the ABC yesterday: "We've said that within a decade, we want to have 50% in the AFP, women to men."
