Couple take lotto jackpot at Gladstone newsagency
THE only winning lotto ticket from Wednesday night's draw was sold by Gladstone Newsagency to a retired Gladstone couple.
The couple has won $1m from a 12 game quick pick that cost them $7.20.
It's the first time owner of nine years Lyn Doyle has sold a first division ticket.
She found out when she opened the store this morning and she did her regular lotto checks.
"I had goosebumps all over me, I was just so happy."
"This is such good news for the community, because we have had a tough few weeks.
Mrs Doyle, and her daughter and store manager Renee Steinhardt both had tickets in the draw.
Mrs Doyle said they had sold many second division tickets before, and had some winners from their scratchies.
But she hopes their biggest win yet will be a good sign for the future.
"We put the sign up this morning saying we sold the winner and all our regulars were very quick to check their tickets."
The winners claimed their money through Golden Casket.
