Former mayoral candidate seeking payout from council
FORMER Noosa mayoral candidate Patricia Petersen has had a compensation claim against Ipswich City Council adjourned to give both sides time to discuss costs.
Ms Petersen, who challenged Noel Playford for the mayoral role in Noosa, is now living in the Ipswich area where she contested the 2013 federal election.
She has been embroiled in a legal battle with Ipswich council over her election signs during that campaign.
She was originally found guilty but successfully appealed the verdict in district court.
Ms Petersen is now seeking compensation and legal costs.
The case was mentioned briefly at Brisbane District Court on Wednesday when council's barrister Steve Kissick asked for the case to be adjourned to allow parties to reach an agreement on costs.
He said it was unlikely there would be any more "hiccups".
The matter was adjourned until Friday week.
