EARLIER: A salvage operation to remove a 41 foot cruiser of Torquay beach will begin on Wednesday night.
The boat was moored off Hervey Bay for six months before a northerly wind broke the anchor line on Tuesday.
Efforts to remove the boat off the beach on Tuesday night's high tide were unsuccessful.
Onlookers stopped to take in the rare sight of the beached boat.
