Free cold room for Outreach charity trip
JOHN and Lyndal Worrell are about to head on the road.
They organise the Bush Bash, a series of outdoor concerts for Care Outreach, bringing music, barbecues and Christmas cheer throughout the bush.
They've always had one problem: keeping the drinks cold.
"We tried eskies with ice," John Worrell said.
"They'd get put behind our freebies."
When they got to town, the problems would not end.
"When we got to some places, their freezers and that were completely full," John said.
"So we hardly had any place to put our stuff.
"In one town last year we were lucky they had a place to buy ice.
"If they didn't have that..."
Now all their problems are over. Randall Beale from Charleville Refrigeration and Electrical donated a free cold room they can drag behind the car all the way from Toompine to Wyandra and back.
John said he popped in to the office for a quote and walked out with a fridge, free of charge.
They've got it as long as they need it, too.
"As long as it takes," Mr Beale said.
This fourth trip starts at the Toompine Hotel on November 30, hitting Quilpie the next day.
