COOLER weather prevailed at the What's On In Charleville event held at the golf club on Saturday night.
Local sports, education and community groups set up stalls welcoming Charleville's newest residents with an opportunity to find out what is going on in town and get involved.
Clifford Jones, who is the golf club's president, said attendance at this year's event was down because of storms in the area.
Sports and community services took the opportunity to raise money for their clubs.
Lines for steak burgers cooked by the Fishing and Restocking Club kept forming through the night and by 8.30pm, 180 burgers were sold.
Mr Jones said instead of sitting on the couch "it does make a difference to attend the event”.
"If you are interested you will find what you are looking for here. We are quite happy to welcome new people here,” he said.
Live music performed by Craig Allen and Cracker McDonald was the main draw, filling the golf course with lyrics and the sounds of electric guitars.
After the stalls closed shop for the night, attendees headed indoors to the golf club bar for a few more drinks and more
socialising.
