Firefighter injured after house and shed fire at Habana

UPDATE:

A firefighter was transported to Mackay Base Hospital with with an injury to his left ear after a gas bottle explosion about 7pm last night at Habana.

He was trasnported by QAS in a stable condition, a QAS spokesman said.

Meanwhile a QFES spokeswoman said they had about six units on scene fighting the fire with multiple teams in breathing apparatus.

The fire was contained to the shed about 5.45pm and they left the scene by 9pm, she said.

Fire investigators have been notified the spokeswoman said.

She also said a fire investigator will travel from Brisbane to the scene today.

YESTERDAY:

Gas bottles exploded during a shed fire on Yakapari-Habana Rd this afternoon and it's believed no-one was injured, a police spokesman said.

The  spokesman said it is not clear how the fire broke out at 5.20pm.

He said it was believed a house was nearby the shed fire.

 A QFES spokeswoman said more crews were on their way to the fire.
