Gatton Star staff injured in alleged hit and run

A GATTON Star employee has been taken to hospital after an alleged hit and run at Railway St on Wednesday morning.

The Gatton Star staff member was crossing the road at the pedestrian crossing near the Commonwealth Bank when a blue car failed to give way at about 10.30am.

She was taken to hospital with leg and other undisclosed injuries.

Gatton Acting Officer in Charge Senior Sergeant Rowland Browne said police would like to warn drivers to be careful in Railway Street

“Remember there are a number of pedestrian crossings and that a driver has an obligation to stop and allow pedestrians to cross,” he said.

“As a result of a recent incident police intend to conduct enforcement in this area to reduce the likelihood of a tragedy occurring.”

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is urged to call the Gatton Police or CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.
