UPDATE: Queensland Fire and Emergency Services have investigated the scene and concluded the gas leak was a false alarm.
BREAKING 10AM: EMERGENCY services are responding to the geriatric and rehab ward of the Rockhampton Hospital following reports of a possible gas leak.
Initial reports suggest upon noticing the smell of gas, staff evacuated the building.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services officials are investigating.
