Gold Coast teen driver charged over drug discovery

A PRE-dawn police patrol has caught a 16-year-old boy after it spotted a black Commodore being driven "suspiciously".

Around 3.30am police conducting proactive patrols intercepted a black Commodore at Townson Avenue.

The driver of the vehicle was a boy and a search of the vehicle allegedly located 120 MDMA tablets as well as quantities of cocaine and cannabis.

The boy was charged with three counts of possession of a dangerous drug, two counts of supply a dangerous drug, two counts of possess thing in connection with a drug offence and unlicensed driving.

He will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
