Hail hits Eulo as storms develop in the south west
THE township of Eulo copped a beating when it started hailing at about 8.30 this morning.
Eulo General Store owner Emily Deiger said it started raining lightly before the hail came down.
"We're headed towards about 25 mm or a bit more," Emily said.
Emily predicted the hail storm lasted for about 15 to 20 minutes and at noon it was still raining.
"We've been pretty lucky here around town, we've had some not bad falls, but it hasn't gone far and we haven't had anything to follow it up," she said.
Earlier this morning the Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Charleville, Quilpie, Adavale, Barringun and Wyandra.
Charleville had seen light showers and the BOM had recorded 9.8 mm of rain at 1pm.
The severe warning provided by the BOM said people should move their cars under cover, beware of fallen power lines and trees and avoid driving through floodwaters.
