Halloween birth comes complete with terrifying doctor

BIRTH is scary enough without an arch villain delivering your baby.

But it seems one unfortunate labouring mother may have had The Joker bring her newborn into the world after someone posted a horrifying picture to Reddit.

The internet is freaking out over the Halloween birth scene, which looks to be right out of a horror movie.

It was captioned: "Cousin gave birth on Halloween night. This was the doc during the delivery.''

While at first glance it seems the picture is probably a hoax - the background doesn't look like an operating theatre, for instance...some people claiming to have a medical background believe it's legit.

"The fact that the gown isn't even pulled all the way on makes me think this guy is totally legit. That's realistic as hell. I've been with OBs before, and they're always chill as sh*t at deliveries (until they aren't, of course),'' someone wrote.

"Guys, it's probably real, when the OB docs deliver babies they basically put on a surgical gown in a half-assed way and squat down on a stool between the legs on the edge of the hospital room's bed (it converts into a bed where the bottom falls out and stirrups come up for the feet to rest in. They'll wear sterile gloves too, but nothing's really sterile at that point,'' someone else pointed out.

Most Reddit users were pretty freaked about the poor kid being born.

"The child born will either have a horrific fear of clowns or some odd affinity toward becoming one...'' someone wrote.

"'Wanna know how I got these scars?'- mom,'' another quipped.

Real life scary stories

Many women opened up about their own real-life birth horror stories.

"Yep, that's how the birth of my son went: Baby born, all good. Junior doc walks in comments on how distended my stomach looks. Push on the stomach and 2 litres of blood comes out. QUICK UP TO THEATER,'' one mum said.

Someone else warned new parents not to read the thread, which became filled with stories of birth trauma.

"Expectant parents, turn back now. Only panic and nightmare await you farther down this comment thread. You've been warned.''
