HEARTLESS: Thieves target Roma business twice in one week

Just days after a Roma motel and restaurant was broken into, offenders have returned to steal and damage the property for a second time within a week.

Officers have dealt with two male youths after a business on Quintin St was allegedly broken into, however police received another report in relation to stealing and wilful damage that occurred between 6pm on Saturday, February 6 and 9am on Sunday, February 7 at that same address.

Unknown offenders have damaged some property and stolen a tool from the building, police said.

About 5pm on Wednesday, February 3 offenders allegedly entered the property, damaged doors and a window and used the Roma swimming pool.

Roma police Officer in Charge Duane Frank said two boys, both aged 14 have been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

Senior sergeant Frank said officers are investigating whether there are any links between these two matters, however, there is currently no information to suggest they are.
