Heatwave to hit south Qld, NSW

A HEATWAVE is set to hit southern Queensland and northern New South Wales this weekend, new forecasts show.

The rising temperatures will follow a hot week across the Kimberley and the Top End.

Bureau of Meteorology forecasts show a low intensity heatwave and areas of "severe" heat conditions predicted for Friday to Sunday this week across the central west and southern Queensland and northern New South Wales.
