How Gladstone's businesses are luring ladies to the CBD

"WHAT girl doesn't want to be pampered?"

It's the ethos a network of Goondoon St business owners are adopting as they try to lure more ladies to shop in the city's centre.

Urban Lane Interiors, My Beauty Lady, Uber Hair, and the Chattin Café have teamed up to offer Gladstone shoppers "Ultimate prize for two" for "you and one of your fav girls".

One woman and her best friend will win a "top to toe indulgence package".

The pair will receive a "high tea" from Chattin Café as they get rubbed, scrubbed and treated to a range of other cosmetic goodies at Uber Hair and its in-house beauty room run by My Beauty Lady.

To enter, shoppers just need to tag a friend they would like to share the prize with and share the post.

Susie Bobbermen, owner of Urban Lane, said the four business' are trying to shake off Goondoon St's reputation for being "full of office blocks".

"The current perception of the area is that there's just not enough in the CBD to make it a destination as such, but I think people will be quite pleasantly surprised," she said.

"It's letting people know that it's worth your drive in here."

Ms Bobbermen said they are also "trying to bring a point of difference" between the CBD's shopping experience and Gladstone's shopping centres.
