How to be involved in southwest Qld’s new media campaign

A collection of southwest Queensland councils has launched a social media campaign that could lead to better promotion of the district by showcasing what it has to offer.

The South West Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils (SWQROC) are encouraging residents to post a video between 15 seconds and two minutes to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #LoveSWQ.

Southwest Queensland’s most populated local government area, the Maranoa Region, is calling for locals to get behind the campaign and showcase what they love in their area.

The initiative is also open to the other councils of Balonne, Murweh, Paroo, Quilpie, and Bullo Shires.

Here are the steps:

1. Create a short 15 second to two minute video of why you love southwest Queensland

2. Follow your local southwest Queensland council’s social media page

3. Post your video using the hashtag #LoveSWQ and tag your council’s page
