‘I’m going to flatten you’: Worker allegedly launches abuse

A BAR worker from a local pub allegedly made a derogatory comment towards a member of the public which led to the pair engaging in a physical altercation.

Police allege between 7-9pm on Wednesday, November 19, the victim entered a licensed venue in Roma with a friend.

The staff member allegedly made a derogatory comment towards the victim before he placed a bottle of scotch on the counter.

The staff member allegedly said words to the effect “don’t worry about paying for the scotch, pay your staff’s wages”.

He then allegedly said “I’m going to flatten you” with the victim responding “go for it”.

The police report stated the suspect walked around the counter and went to push the victim before the victim grabbed his wrists and the pair pushed one another before the victim’s friend intervened.

The victim reported it to police yesterday, November 19.

Roma police are still investigating the matter.
