Juveniles go on smashing spree throughout Roma
JUVENILES have left a trail of destruction through Roma, with police called to a number of vandalism call outs this week.
According to Roma Police, Rex Furnishes and Carpet has been damaged on two different occasions in the past week.
Police allege between 7pm on January 13 and 8.50am on January 14, unknown juveniles have climbed onto the roof of the premises and damaged the airconditioning vent by pulling off the bolts and throwing them onto McDowall St.
The offenders allegedly then threw large rocks, smashing a window located in the alley way between the stores’ two buildings.
Police believe the same suspects returned to the furniture store between similar times on January 14 and January 15 and threw large rocks at another window.
Rex Furnishes and Carpet did not wish to comment on the recurring matter.
Police are still investigating but urge the public to come forward if they know any further information.
Police believe juveniles are also responsible for the damage of a Toyota Fortuner, that was parked on Mayne St on the evening of January 13.
According to a report, the owner of the vehicle left it parked for an hour, and when she returned, found her vehicle smashed, and the left rear panel damaged.
The owner of the vehicle told police she had seen four juvenile males located near the vehicle at the time of the incident.
Roma police are still investigating the matter.
A similar instance occurred on January 12 at the Roma Masonic Club located at 38 Jackson St.
Between 3pm-4pm, three juveniles entered through an open window and smashed several glass windows.
Roma police have suspects in mind but investigations are still ongoing.
