Juventus teenager sets new age record

FOOTBALL: Moise Kean has become the first player born in 2000 to play in Europe's top four leagues after coming on in Juventus's 3-0 win over Pescara.

The 16-year-old striker was an 84th-minute substitute for Mario Mandzukic in the Serie A clash.

Kean didn't get to do much with the match already decided, but his future seems assured after scoring 24 goals in 25 matches for Juve's under-17 team last season.

Last season, Callum Styles became the first player born in this millennium to feature in the Football League. Unfortunately for Bury, he was not registered properly and it was deducted three points.

In April, West Brom's Jonathan Leko was the first player to play in the English Premier League born in 1999. Nobody born later has played in the EPL yet.

Outside of the "big four” - the EPL, La Liga, Serie A and Bundesliga - Vincent Thill became the first player born in 2000 to play in France's Ligue 1.

Jack Aitchison, also born in 2000, scored on his Celtic debut - with his first touch - on the final day of the last Scottish league season against Motherwell.

The win over Pescara took Juventus seven points clear of second-placed Roma.

Sami Khedira, Mandzukic and Hernanes scored the goals for Juve, which is chasing a sixth Serie A title in a row.
