Kiwis planning to make the most of their second chance

RUGBY LEAGUE: Adam Blair says he and his New Zealand teammates are determined to make the most of their second chance in the Four Nations.

The Kiwis endured an anxious wait to see if the Kangaroos could allow them to progress to the final by beating England in their final preliminary match.

New Zealand did itself no favours by drawing with Scotland two days earlier.

"Any time you get a second chance in anything you've got to grab it with two hands and do whatever you can,” the Brisbane Bronco said.

"After we knew we were in (the final), everyone's mood changed.

"We are grateful and excited for it.”

Blair said the Kiwis needed to project that desire into their play if they were to upset the Kangaroos, who have already beaten them three times this year.

"We need to show that we want this and show each other that we want to and deserve to be there,” the forward said.

"For us this week we need to give it our all.

"We need to turn up ready to play our best game of the tournament. There is nothing for us after this. There are no excuses. We don't want to have any regrets.”
