This Kmart has had to lock up its chocolate
ONE Kmart has had to take the truly odd step of putting their chocolate in individual security cases.
According to news.com.au, shoplifters have been opening so many family-size blocks that the new measures became necessary.
At the north Melbourne Reservoir store, customers now need to have the secure plastic containers unlocked at the point of purchase.
This Bundoora @Kmart takes chocolate security very seriously. Apparently #Melbourne thieves prefer @CadburyAU pic.twitter.com/pdj3Ed5x4l

A security guard, who did not want his name used, said store management had been forced to lock down the chocolates after chocoholic shoppers would grab a block to snack on while browsing.
It's only the expensive stuff being secured, though, with only the Cadbury blocks needing the encasement treatment.
