LNP picks candidate for state seat

The LNP has again chosen nurse Kerri-Anne Dooley to run against sitting Member for Redcliffe and state Attorney-General Yvette D'Ath.

Ms Dooley was a losing candidate in the 2017 state election.

The selection has been welcomed by party leader Deb Frecklington.

"Kerri-Anne has spent her life contributing to the Redcliffe community and helping others," Ms Frecklington said.

"She will be an outstanding representative for the people of Redcliffe because the Peninsula's priorities are her priorities.

"Kerri-Anne and the LNP will cut hospital waiting times, improve education results, create more local jobs and deliver new infrastructure."

As a mother of four children, Ms Dooley is passionate about improving education outcomes.

She is actively involved in a number of community groups and is a registered nurse.

Ms Frecklington said Kerri-Anne knew good health services were vitally important, but Labor's priorities were all wrong.

"It's time to fix the problems in our hospitals, schools and economy and only the LNP has the energy and the plan to do it."

Ms Frecklington said the LNP would cut hospital waiting times by partnering with private healthcare providers.

"This will not only improve patient care but also ease the pressure on Queensland's hard-working nurses and doctors," she said.

"The LNP will also improve education outcomes by de-cluttering the curriculum.

"The LNP will work with Moreton Bay Regional Council to bust traffic bottlenecks and cut congestion across the region.

"The LNP's economic plan will also create more jobs by building infrastructure like Bruce Highway upgrades and our no-new-tax guarantee will boost business confidence."

Party President David Hutchinson said Ms Dooley was a passionate candidate and would be a great Member for Redcliffe.
