Police officer stood down after CCC investigation

A LOCAL police officer has been stood down from official duty following a Crime and Corruption investigation.

The constable, 38, is the subject of an ongoing investigation concerning allegations of misconduct including accessing and releasing confidential information.

The Crime and Corruption Commission issued the officer with a notice to appear after he was charged with two offences surrounding the unauthorised access of the police service database.

Those charges include one count of improper disclosure of information and one count of misconduct in relation to public office.

The officer is due to appear in Ipswich magistrates Court on June 7.
