Man allegedly kidnapped woman on Valentine's Day
A 26-YEAR-OLD woman was allegedly forced to drive at gunpoint to a Gold Coast address by a man who has since been charged with kidnapping, wilful damage and drug offences.
Police say the offences happened on Valentine's Day when the woman became involved in a fight with a 38-year-old man, who was known to her.
The man has produced a firearm, forced the woman into a vehicle and forced her to drive to a Paradise Point address, before he released her unharmed, they allege.
On Monday, the matter was reported to Detectives at Runaway Bay.
As a result of investigations detectives intercepted the man's vehicle outside the Runaway Bay Police station and arrested him without incident.
It will further be alleged a search was carried out at on a Paradise Point residence where a loaded firearm, ammunition and ice were seized.
A 38-year-old Hollywell man has been charged with kidnapping, wilful damage and drug offences.
He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
