
Man allegedly tries to knee police officer after hospital rampage
A young man has earnt himself a date with the magistrate after allegedly driving unlicensed and attempting to knee a police officer.
Roma police senior constable Lea Warren said the 18-year-old was caught driving on Charles Street at Roma at 1.39am on December 31, 2020.
He needed to be taken to hospital after the encounter.
“He became obstructive and abusive while there,” senior constable Warren said.
Police removed him from the hospital and tried to put him in a police car, but the man allegedly tried to kick an officer.
He is due to appear in the Roma Magistrates Court on January 19, 2021.
