Passenger killed but driver lives in Sunshine Motorway crash

A 31-year-old man has died in a single-vehicle crash at Coolum Beach overnight.

Police say around a car traveling south along the Sunshine Motorway around 11:15pm lost control and crashed into trees.

The vehicle has rolled a number of times before stopping.

The 31-year-old Palmview man who died at the scene was a passenger.

The 23-year-old driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Kawana Hospital.

The Sunshine Motorway was closed between Coolum-Yandina Rd and the Peregian Springs roundabout for two hours while the Forensic Crash Unit commenced investigations.

Investigations are continuing.
