Man robbed and stabbed by teen in park

A 23-year-old man has been stabbed while being robbed of his wallet  in Southport overnight.

Police say around 10:10pm the man was sitting in parklands off Marine Parade with a 21-year-old woman where they were approached by an unknown man.

The man demanded money of the 23-year-old and when he refused he was assaulted.

The 23-year-old then complied and handed the man his wallet. The man the fled to the south towards the Sundale Bridge.

The 23-year-old sustained stab wounds to the back and chest.

Police and emergency crews attended and he was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

The unknown man is believed to be in his late teens or early twenties, approximately 170 -175cm tall with a slim build. He was wearing yellow shorts and a black zip-up hooded jacket.
