UPDATE: Domestic dispute behind knife attack

UPDATE 11.30am: Police say a domestic argument has led to a man being attacked with a knife near Warwick this morning.

A couple from central Queensland, both 31, were camping at a rest area in Freestone overnight, when a disagreement turned violent.

Detective Senior Constable Adam Reedy, of Warwick Criminal Investigation Branch said the woman then attacked her partner with a knife cutting him to the upper arm.

"This happened earlier this morning," he said.

"Both parties had calmed down by the time we arrived and refused to give us any more information.

"As a results no complaints were made to police and no charges have been laid."

The man was treated by paramedics at the scene.

Police and paramedics are at the scene of the incident, which occurred at a picnic stop near the Freestone bridge at about 9am.

A man at the scene had been bandaged and police confirmed a man had been stabbed in the upper arm.

Detective were on scene by 9.30am and their investigations are continuing.
